Check that you are using your Facebook account's email and password and that they are typed correctly.
You can stop the pop up notifications by modifying the Notifications alerts in the fTalk Preferences. To open the Preferences window, sign in to fTalk, click on your full name next to your profile picture to open fTalk menu, and select Preferences. Another option is to click on the 'Hide' link that appears on the pop up notifications.
In the Preferences dialog, go to the 'Notifications' tab and select 'None' from the options list next to 'A friend comes online'.
Note: You can also control the notifications that pop up when a friend sends you a message in that same tab.

You can easily update your status on your Facebook page from your fTalk. All you do is write your status on the fTalk bar and it will be updated automatically on Facebook.
Sign in to fTalk and then go to your photo and click on the drop down tray to its right hand side.
